With the peace process in Tigray, the progressive resumption to normality is leading to increased humanitarian demand, which will continue for a while. A need for transitional support to administrative activities is required.

The Admin intern will be supporting the Admin unit in Mekelle, under the supervision of the Finance Associate and Admin Assistant.

How can you make a difference? 

  • The intern will support the delivery of the following key deliverables.
  • Assistance in monitoring contractors and managing accommodation reservations
  • To assist the supervisor in the monitoring of contractors’ and service providers performance.
  • Assist with accommodation reservations for field office guests upon request and based on availability in the guesthouse or elsewhere in UNDSS-approved accommodations for staff/partners coming on a mission to Mekelle.
  • To obtain bills from the UNICEF-provided accommodation supervisor for guests.
  • Assistance in fleet management & travel activities
  • Contribute and assist with the consolidation of the weekly mission plans.
  • Coordinate with the rental car service providers on the required number of cars as instructed by the Admin Assistant and assist the Admin Assistant in the follow-up of contracts/work order issuance by the Operations Officer.
  • Assistance in other Administrative related matters
  • Assist with the low-value procurements managed under petty cash modalities
  • Collects and delivers mail, pouches, and other communications from and to other UN agencies/government agencies and other institutions.
  • Other tasks in the above areas may be assigned by the supervisor.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

  • Be enrolled at a university in Ethiopia at the undergraduate or graduate level or be a recent graduate (Candidates who were enrolled in full-time university studies for a first (bachelor’s) degree prior to 2020 and who would have graduated in 2020, 2021 or 2022 in normal circumstances) in Administration, Management, Hotel industry management, Finance, Accounting or related field is required.
  • Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications; excellent knowledge of MS Office is required.
  • Fluency in English is required.
