Job Description

Chemonics International seeks experienced professionals for the USAID-funded Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project. GHSC-PSM Ethiopia will serve as the primary vehicle through which USAID will procure and furnish health commodities, provide technical assistance to improve the country’s management of the supply chain, and collaborate with key international stakeholders to support global and local health initiatives.

Purpose

Consultant for Finance /Documentation Assistant will ensure all the financial documents are ready for audit purposes.

Duties and responsibility:

  • preparing financial documents for audit purposes.
  • Scanning, filing, and labeling of financial documents.
  • Checking/verifying completeness of financial documents for audit purpose.
  • Ensure all check payments and General Journals are posted in accounting software and filed in a sequential manner.
  • Ensure each financial document has all the required supporting documents in place.
  • Any other finance related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Consultant for Finance/Documentation Assistant

The Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement and Supply Management Ethiopia

Background

The purpose of the Global Health Supply Chain– Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) Program is to ensure uninterrupted supplies of health commodities in support of United States Government (USG)-funded public health initiatives around the world. The project provides direct procurement and supply chain management support to the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) and Population and Reproductive Health. In supporting USG-funded global health activities, GHSC-PSM will develop and manage a wide array of services for health commodity procurement and related systems strengthening technical assistance encompassing different elements of a comprehensive supply chain for priority health programs including Tuberculosis.

At the country level, GHSC-PSM supports country strategies and priorities that fall under the following three project objectives:

  • Global Commodity Procurement and Logistics
  • Systems Strengthening Technical Assistance
  • Global collaboration to improve long-term availability of health commodities

Purpose

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Level of Effort and Location

The period for this position will be one month with the possibility of an extension.  The position will be based in Addis Ababa.

Supervision

The finance Officer will report directly to the finance specialist or his/her designee.

Job Requirements

  • University degree in accounting or related field from recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills: demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse staff, clients, and consultants.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to communicate in English & Amharic.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office and accounting software suite applications are required.
  • Good knowledge of USAID rules and regulations, experience in international NGO preferred.
