Job Description

Safaricom Ethiopia is owned by an international consortium including Vodafone Group; Safaricom PLC; Vodacom Group; Sumitomo Corporation – one of the largest international trading and business investment companies; and British International Investment (BIl) – the UK’s development finance institution and impact investor.

Role Purpose

To ensure that the business is able to process, compile and report the annual budgets and qua forecast, results to management and the Group on a timely basis. The preparation of the annual budgets and quarterly forecast results should comply with company procedures and the accounting policies for the Group and submitted in the formats prescribed.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

· Review of forecasts, budgets & LRP’s.

· Ensure the annual budgets and quarterly forecast information adheres to IFRS and complies with Group accounting policies

· Review of monthly cash flow forecasts.

· Review of quarterly board pack

· Preparation and review of reports.

· MIS Data Warehouse project planning, management and coordination.

· Enhancement of close linkages with financial accounting to enhance accuracy of reporting

· Identifying and implementing cost and efficiency improvements

· Manage the objective setting & PDR Review Processes

· Manage and grow Talent within the section

Job Requirements

• Qualification: Degree in Accounting, economics, finance
• Experience: 5 years and above broad experience in all facets of Finance i.e. Management Accounting, Forecasting and Planning, Financial Accounting, and Reporting.
• Specialist in more than two areas of finance e.g. Management Accounting, Forecasting and Planning, Financial Accounting, and Audit.
